Albedo

Albedo (from Latin for 'whiteness') is the measure of diffuse reflection of sunlight by a surface, ranging from 0 (total absorption) to 1 (total reflection). It depends on the surface's properties and the spectral and angular distribution of incoming solar radiation, which vary with atmospheric composition, location, and time.
