Antarctica

Antarctica, Earth's southernmost and least-populated continent, is located almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle. Surrounded by the Southern Ocean, it contains the geographic South Pole and is the fifth-largest continent, about 40% larger than Europe, with an area of 14,200,000 km2. The majority of Antarctica is covered by the Antarctic ice sheet, averaging 1.9 km in thickness.
