The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Russian: Объединённый институт ядерных исследований, ОИЯИ), situated in Dubna, Moscow Oblast, 110 km north of Moscow, is a prominent international center dedicated to advancing nuclear sciences. With a staff of 5500, including 1200 researchers from eighteen countries holding over 1000 Ph.Ds, JINR is at the forefront of scientific discovery.
JINR comprises seven specialized laboratories focusing on various aspects of nuclear physics, such as theoretical physics, high energy physics, heavy ion physics, condensed matter physics, nuclear reactions, neutron physics, and information technology. Additionally, the institute houses a division dedicated to radiation and radiobiological research, as well as other ad hoc experimental physics experiments.
