Karl Friedrich August Rammelsberg

After studying pharmacy and chemistry at the University of Berlin under renowned scientists, Rammelsberg became a privatdozent in 1841. He was promoted to associate professor of inorganic chemistry in 1845 and taught at the Gewerbeakademie from 1850. In 1874, he attained a full professorship at the university and was named director of the inorganic chemistry laboratory in 1883.
