Mountain range

from Terraforming Wiki

A mountain range is a series of peaks arranged linearly and linked by high ground. Mountain systems or belts are collections of ranges with similar form, structure, and alignment resulting from the same geological processes, often plate tectonics. Significant mountain ranges on Earth typically form due to plate tectonic activity. Many other planetary bodies in our Solar System also feature mountain ranges.
