Asaph Hall

Asaph Hall III (October 15, 1829 – November 22, 1907) was a prominent American astronomer renowned for discovering the two Martian moons, Deimos and Phobos, in 1877. His work included calculating the orbits of planetary satellites and binary stars, measuring Saturn's rotation, and determining the mass of Mars.
