Proton

Protons are stable subatomic particles with a positive charge of +1 e, represented by the symbols p, H+, or 1H+. Their mass is slightly less than that of neutrons and 1,836 times greater than electrons. Along with neutrons, which have similar masses of about one atomic mass unit, protons are classified as "nucleons"—the particles that make up atomic nuclei.
